Our Lady of the New Millennium is a spectacular 33-foot, 8.5 ton statue of Our Blessed Lady, that was commissioned by the late Carl Demma of Oak Lawn, Illinois to fulfill his lifelong dream of bringing the Blessed Virgin Mary to all the people of the Chicago area. Constructed of steel ribbons by Charles Cooper Parks of Wilmington, Delaware, the statue was blessed by Pope John Paul II during his visit to St. Louis in 1999.
The statue of Our Lady of the New Millennium
visited St. Victor Church from Sunday, August 20, 2006 through Sunday,
September 3, 2006. In honor of Her visit to our church, we organized a
series of special events during the period of the statue's visit.
